Amazing stories about famous artists and their masterpieces have inspired us to invite you on a journey through the world of the visual arts. The historic development in natural science to represent problems visually was paralleled by a shift in the arts – masterpieces were created which would change our perception of reality and reconnected us with long lost cultural traditions.

“The Story Behind® Arts“ not only bridges the divide between natural sciences and the arts, but enables you to discover unusual perspectives on reality. For example, physical terms like Time, Space, Colour and Light each have their own histories – they haven’t always been seen the same way! It was experimentation by visual artists that forever changed the way these are understood.Each masterpiece is accompanied by the artist’s own views on science – previously unknown and exciting perspectives. We’ll also have contributions from experts in art and art history as well as famous authors on the history of science.

“The Story Behind® Arts“ is issued bimonthly. At the beginning of every second month, the solution to the previous month’s puzzle will be revealed and the new puzzle released.All correct entries will go into a draw for one of three signed copies of a book about the arts. (All decisions are final. Any recourse to courts of law is excluded.)
