Robyn Arianrhod
Robyn Arianrhod - mathematician and author - has gained wide recognition through her recent publication Einstein's Heroes: Imagining the World Through the Language of Mathematics. In it, she shows how theoretical physicists like Einstein, Newton, Faraday and especially Maxwell employ the language of mathematics to articulate their imaginings about the “reality” of our universe. Einstein’s Heroes was first published in Australia, where it was short-listed for the 2004 Age Non-Fiction Book of the Year and the 2004 Victorian Premier's Prize; it has also been published in the UK and the US, with the French and Japanese editions appearing later this year. Robyn teaches at the School of Mathematical Sciences at Monash University, where she is currently an Honorary Research Associate.
